Official Statement

Mr. Gaddafi: Enough is Enough!

Partido Kalikasan (Philippine Green Party), is in solidarity with the call of the Global Greens to end the bloody crackdown of Colonel Muammar Al-Gaddafi and his supporters against the Libyan protesters fighting for state reform and democracy.
We express our deep solidarity and sympathy to all the countless victims and their families affected by the brutal actions of the Gaddafi regime.

We strongly believe that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Forty one (41) years in power of Colonel Al-Gaddafi had brought about suffering of several generations. Now is  the right time to end the decades of human rights abuses and violations and dis-empowerment of the Libyan people.

We urge the United Nations to uphold and facilitated the protection of human rights, fundamental freedoms and democracy in Libya. It is disturbing that a current member of the UN Human Rights Council is sponsoring violence and lawlessness in its own nation. The UN must establish an independent commission which will help the Libyan people to democratically establish a new government. .

We call on and the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to intervene for the sake of peace and order in Libya. The defenceless citizens of Libya and uphold the noble Islamic values of unity and fraternity, and affirming the universality of promoting international peace and harmony.

We are appalled by how world leaders, specifically from developed states, view this serious matter on the lens of economic trade more than protecting the Libyan people on this grave acts of human rights violation and Crime against Humanity.

This is a definitely a preventive mechanism for other western countries with strong interest on Libyan natural resources to take advantage of the current situation of Libya.

Enough is Enough!
Now is the time for the Libyan people to take back the dignity and freedom which they have lost under 41 years of the repressive Gaddafi Regime. Once and for all, the International Community must set aside their personal differences and greed for the sake of the people of Libya who are now desperately yearning for social and state reform.
